Obuah, Ex-PDP Chairman Becomes Elder Statesman
Former Chairman of the Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Brother Felix Obuah last Wednesday stepped down from his chairmanship of the Party in the state.
In a ceremony held at the Obi Wali Cultural Centre, attended by Party big wigs including Rivers State Governor Barr. Nyesom Wike, the former PDP state chairman, handed the party to Chief Desmond Akawo as the new chairman of the party in the state.
In a chat with reporters after the ceremony, Chief Obuah said he has become an Elder Statesman for his services to the state.
The former PDP chairman, popularly called Go-Round by admirers emphasized that as one who has paid his dues in the service of the state and the party, he will be going into retirement as an Elder Statesman in the state.
The former party chairman however declined to speak on his next political moves on the party’s platform, stressing that he will continue to remain loyal to the party.
Chief Felix Obuah has been a frontline politician in the state since 1999. He held the position of state chairman of the party for the two consecutive terms from 2014-2020.
Chief Obuah is widely tipped as a front-liner for the governorship race in 2023 in Rivers State.
