Nduka Joins Clamour For Restructuring of Nigeria

Emeritus Professor and elder statesmen, Professor Otonti Emenike Nduka has advocated for the immediate and comprehensive restructuring to ensure the continued survival of the country.

In a chat with newsmen at his residence in Port Harcourt, the Professor lamented the increasing spate of corruption and socio-economic wastages in the country, emphasizing that Nigeria will go nowhere if fundamental changes are not quickly undertaken to reposition the nation.

According to him, “The distribution of the nation’s resources in the way it has been has only set Nigeria backwards and our leaders have successfully stolen our common wealth overseas. What our leaders do with our resources have had implications for the negative growth of the country, they take away a disproportionate amount of our resources and fritter it away,”

The retired professor of the University of Port Harcourt called for radical changes in the mode of administration of the country, stressing the need for holistic amendment to the laws governing the Nigerian state.

Professor Nduka also advocated for demonstration of truthfulness and integrity in the way things are done in the country, arguing that insincerity and marginalization has been the bane of the country.

The emeritus Professor, who is also the chairman of Elegbam Community Elders forum however showered commendations on the Mohammadu Buhari administration over its corruption fight since coming to power.

He said the Buhari government come in a full way to sanitize the way things are being done in the country; adding that there have been clear exposures in tackling the rot in the nation’s socio economic systems.

The respected University Don equally bemoaned the wastages and corruption in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), emphasizing that the probe of the NDDC by the Buhari administration will open up what he termed the Pandora box in the commission.

Professor Nduka recommended for leadership orientation for the nation’s leaders stressing that his foundation, the Otonti Nduka Foundation for promotion of education and leadership is designed to educate the public on the best way to administer and manage public institutions.
