Monarch Lauds Emergence Of Akawor as PDP Chairman
The Ezeoha of Oyigbo, HRH Eze Mike Nwaji (JP) has lauded the emergence of Ambassador Desmond Akawor as the new Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State.
The Oyigbo monarch described the development as an additional boost to the people of Oyigbo Local Government and the entire state.
In a chat with the media in his palace, Eze Nwaji commended Amb. Akawor as a tested and proven administrator who will bring greater glory to the ruling party in the state.
The Traditional Ruler charged Oyigbo people to lend their massive support to the new chairman who he described as the true son of Oyigbo land and a reputable member of the palace.
Eze Nwaji equally admonished residents of the area to adhere to all precautionary measures and guidelines issued by the State Government and relevant authorities to prevent the spread of Coronavirus disease.
The Monarch said he had constituted a local taskforce to sensitize and enforce the various orders of the state government, adding that he had personally visited various places to speak to the people to observe the orders of the Governor on the pandemic.
The Traditional Ruler also lauded the various security agencies in the area for their cooperation in ensuring peace and security of lives and property in the area, especially the control of the border areas of the state.
He commended Governor Nyesom Wike for all the proactive steps taken to contain the spread of the disease which he added were aimed at preserving the lives of Rivers people.
The Monarch advice Oyigbo people to cooperate with the local taskforce on covid-19 in the area, stressing that he had equally cautioned the taskforce members against high-handedness and extortion.
