LG Chairman Warns against Factional Politics in Oyigbo
The Executive Chairman of Oyigbo Local Government Area, Hon Gerald Offorji has advised the new executives of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the area to eschew factional politics in the affairs of the party in the Local Government.
Hon Offorji while addressing members of the party executives during their swearing ceremony at the party office in Oyigbo, congratulated both the out gone and new Excos of the party, stressing that their emergence was a divine call to serve.
Prince Offorji adviced the new executive members of the party in the area to concentrate on mobilizing people for the Party, adding that factional politics should be avoided in order to ensure that, the new state chairman of the party, Chief Desmond Akawoh who hails from the local government achieves success in his assignment.
“Our leader and brother must not fail in the task of leading the party in the state. All hands must therefore be on deck to ensure that his tenure surpass previous chairmen of the party in the state.” the chairman declared.
Speaking to newsmen after being sworn in, the new chairman of the Party in the area, Hon. Alex Ubeawuchi promised to run an all inclusive administration, stressed that his team will embark on the reconciliation and return of members of the opposition to the party.
Also speaking, Hon. Nancy Preye Chidi Nwankwo, a former Commissioner in the state from the area expressed the confidence that the new exco members will deliver on their mandate, describing the members as tested hands of the party.
Hon. Nwankwo also hailed Chief Desmond Akawor as the new helmsman of the party in the state, noting that the new state chairman of the party as a model politician of character who will sustain the goodwill of the party in the state.
