Monarch Warns Against Criticizing Police
Paramount Ruler of Alesa Eleme, His Royal Highness Emere Emperor J. D. Nkpe II, has cautioned against hasty criticisms of the Nigeria Police as they perform their professional duties.
Emere NKpe II who is the Oneh-El-Eto Alesa, spoke when the Area Commander of Eleme Area Command and executives of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) of the command paid him a thank you visit in his Palace.
The monarch said the sacrifice made by the police in securing and protecting lives and property need to be encouraged and noted that whatever God directed him to do for the police, he would not hesitate to do it despite financial constraints.
He assured that he would assist the Area Command to carry out their constitutional duties to the society and said people should not criticize the police unnecessarily but they should help them to achieve their objectives of ensuring peace and public safety.
The Alesa monarch also commended the Eleme Area Commander, ACP Martins Woguh for assuring traditional rulers of co-operation and members of the PCRC for assisting the police.
In his speech, the Commander, Eleme Area Command, ACP Martins Woguh said the visit was to thank Emere Nkpe for being the first monarch to respond to their needs after his visit to traditional rulers in the area.
Also speaking, the Chairman, PCRC Eleme Area Command, Chief Harrison Olungwe lauded the monarch for his assistance to the command and called on others to emulate him.
He prayed that officers and men of the Area Command would perform their duties effectively to the glory of God and mankind.
