Women have been told to Properly Position themselves if they want to see the slogan of Equalility for Each, come to reality, as the world celebrates 2020 International Women’s Day.
Speaking at the event organized by the Ministry of Women Affairs in Port Harcourt,, the Nigeria Labour Congress State Women Leader, Comrade, Opi Erekosima stated that women should stop pulling down their fellow women, but rather should encourage each other to participate, contest for viable positions that if they succeed can plant other women.
She added that that is the only way that women clamour for “Each for Equal” can be actualised, noting that women cannot continue to wish for equal opportunity with their male counterparts and go home without making efforts in actualising set objectives.
Also speaking the Chairperson Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Mrs Lilian Ogabu-Okonkwo stated that her speech from the journalistic point of view for the 2020 International Women’s Day on the theme: “Each for Equal,” is that women must be ready at all times to grant journalists interviews on issues pertaining to women, girls and their children.
Represented by the Director of News and Programmes, Garden City Radio, Mrs Ilanye Jumbo, she stressed on the need for women to stop shying away from television cameras and Tripods, remarking that the men are always bold and ready to grant Journalists interviews even those of them that are unable to speak good English.
