LG Boss Breaks Ground For Bolo Modern Market

The Ogu/Bolo Local Government Council has performed the ground breaking for an ultra modern market in Bolo Community to boost business activities and increase the council’s revenue.

Speaking during the ceremony, the chairman of the council, Hon. Erasmus Victor advised the people to make good use of the market when the first phase will be commissioned in six months time, describing it as a milestone in the history of the council.

Victor noted that since the creation of the Local Government Council, no such project has been embarked upon, as their only source of internal generated revenue was the Olobulo market at Ogu which was built through communal efforts and given facelift by companies operating in the area.

He said, the market would satisfy the yearning of the people of Bolo Kingdom, and neighbouring  communities. He hinted that the first set of one-block market will have 20 lock-up shops and 30 open stores with necessary facilities.

The Ogu/Bolo boss further noted that distribution of dividends of democracy would be spread across the local government area and disclosed that the foundation laying ceremony of a befitting legislative chamber in Ogu, the head quarters of the Local Government would soon take place.

He stated that with the resources available, more projects would be embarked upon and restated his passion to address the needs of the people by bringing democracy to their door steps.

Victor also said the project will be executed in phases and warned against disturbing the workers or demand for marching ground. The chairman said all hands should be on deck to ensure security and completion of project on time for the women who are their mothers and sisters, and thanked all for gracing the occasion.

In his goodwill message, the Amanyanabo of Bolo Kingdom, HRH King Acheseinimie Micah Frank, Bolo Luka VIII, who spoke through the Chairman of Bolo Se Council of Chiefs, Chief Iyakuroke Tamuno-Opuokolo expressed delight for the project which would serve the people and its satellite communities, and thanked the authorities of the council for the laudable project.

In their speeches, Chief Justus Opuowubo and the chairman of Bolo Youth Forum, Gabriel Benjamin, thanked God for given the chairman and his officers the wisdom and courage to embark on such project that has direct bearing to the people at the grassroot, prayed God to further give them the courage to complete it on schedule.

The Market Women Forum chairperson of Bolo Se, Mrs. Blessing Inimie and Mrs. Awoala Dala said they were excited with the market project and prayed for more projects, they appealed to the women to be grateful and protect the project as well as give the chairman necessary support to attract more projects and successful tenure.

According to them, the edifice would bring rapid development to the area and enjoined the chairman of council not to relent.

The ceremony was graced by the Vice Chairman of the Council, Barr. Christianah Tamunoberetoanri, Leader of the Legislative Assembly, Hon. Joackin Tamunoyemiari and other Councilors and Supervisors, Secretary to the Council, Hon.  Dokubo S. Dokubo, Chairman of PDP in Ogu/Bolo, Hon. Arnold Davids, Woman leader, Mrs. Martha Ibifari, the HLGA Mrs. Gladys Nwoye, and other Principal Officers, including the Director of Works in the Council, Engr. George Ogah.
