Nsirim Tasks Publishers On Welfare Of Staff
Commissioner designate and Permanent Secretary, Rivers State Ministry of Information and Communications, Pastor Palinus Nsirim has restated his commitment to propagate his vision of shared responsibility for the development of Rivers State.
Nsirim who spoke to the media after his screening and confirmation by the Rivers State House of Assembly, said he will pursue with greater vigor the initiative of ensuring that all residents of the state key into the policy trusts of the Wike administration.
The permanent secretary who initiated the; I Endorse: #Our State Our responsibility, campaign declared his readiness to take the vision to the door steps of all stakeholders in the development of the state, if the Government assigns the information portfolio to him.
In another development, Pastor Nsirim has frowned at the poor attitude of journalists in issues relating to their welfare.
Pastor Nsirim was reacting to the poor welfare package to journalists in the state by some employers.
He lamented that many journalists resort to demanding for brown envelopes because of inadequate remuneration adding that a lot of media practitioners are not paid by media owners.
Nsirim who spoke at the Dinner Night organized by the Correspondent Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalist in Port Harcourt stated that any media owner who cannot pay his workers is not worthy of being called a proprietor of a media house.
He charged journalists to always appear decent for their assignments adding that it was the only way to earn the respect of the public.
