New NDDC MD Demands List Of N’Delta Communities

The new acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Joy Nunieh has requested state offices of the commission to furnish her with names of all communities in the Niger Delta for immediate development action.

Nunieh gave the directive yesterday as she assumed office at the commissions head office

She said the communities should include those in Abia, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo, Imo, Ondo and Rivers.

The acting MD said she needed the list within one week in order to help her map out plans on how to develop them.

She said her focus would be on developing the rural areas in the nine Niger Delta States, stressing that by next month, November, Niger Delta communities would know that NDDC exists.

Nunieh whose appointment was announced yesterday, October 29, replaces, Dr. Akwagiga Enyie, the immediate past Acting M.D.

In a handover ceremony at the corporate Head office of NDDC at Aba Road yesterday, the new acting M.D commended her predecessor and assured of development in the Niger Delta communities.
