Neighborhood Watch Set To Resume Training Soon – DG
Following the outcome of the judgment of State High Court over the action of Nigerian Army in disrupting the training of personnel of the state Neighborhood Watch the Director General of the agency, Mr. Felix Chukwuma has assured recruits of the state security outfit to remain calm, saying their training would resume soon.
The Director General who described the Neighborhood watch as a worthy legacy for the state, urged all true Rivers people to support and promote it in order to achieve and sustain security in the state.
He warned those who according to him had earlier sabotaged the effort of the state government to promote peace and security through the establishment of the security out fit to desist, emphasizing that, those who did it for personal selfish interests will certainly pay for it.
Speaking to newsmen in Port Harcourt, Dr. Chukwuma stated that the state needs security to attract and sustain human and material development, stressing that no state can survive in an environment of insecurity. “We have allowed the judicial process to run its course, and so the Neighborhood Watch Security outfit will soon proceed”. He added that Governor, Nyesom Wike is desirous of making the local security outfit and would soon decide on the next line of action.
