Wike Inaugurates Road Maintenance Agency
Rivers State Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has sworn in members of the newly constituted Rivers State Road Maintainance Agency.
Speaking on their appointment Governor Wike said he had to check for passionate people that would be committed to the success of the state. He charged them to work as a team for them to succeed in their mandate.
Governor Wike went on to give the board a first assignment of doing a comprehensive audit of roads that would need their attention. This he said would be the basis for funds to be released to the board and would provide data for an analysis of their performance.
On his vision for road maintainence in the state Governor Wike stated that he wanted the agency to grow a functioning works department with its own tools, equipments and skilled manpower that can directly carry out it’s repair jobs.
In his remark the Chairman of the Board, Prince Timothy Nsirim on behalf of the board appreciated the Governor for the opportunity to serve the state as he assured the Governor that they would ensure all our roads are maintained in line with the Governors mandate.
