Robbers Terrorize Ndashi Estate In PH

Residents of Ndashi Street in D/Line, Port Harcourt are now living in fear following repeated attacks unleashed by armed robbers on an estate located in the area.

Reports said dare-devil robbers have on four occasion invaded and robbed resistant of Ndashi estate and carted away cash, phones and television sets.

A resident of the estate Mr. Chika Anyanwu who narrated his ordeal told The vortex that the robbers first attacked him in his house on Tuesday, August 26.

According to him, he noticed some movements by his window around 2am in the night and attempted to know the identity of the robbers when they took to their heels, adding that he immediately opened his door and pursued them to the entrance of the estate but could not see any of them.

Anyanwu said after he travelled on Wednesday of the same week the robbers again visited his residence and attempted to remove the television in his bedroom, but for his children who slept in the room.

He said after the children raised alarm, they robbers abandoned the plasma television set but succeeded in taking away his generator parked on his corridor.

Anyanwu said the robbers also invaded the homes of two other residents of the estate where they robbed the occupants of their phones plasma television and generator including cash at gun point.

He alleged that based on information given to him by his children and other victims of the incidents, he has been able to identify two of the suspected robbers.

Other residents of the estate who, spoke on the issue confired that the robbers had severally terrorized residents of the estate at nights, and appealed to the Nigerian police to come to their aid.

Anyanwu, who said he has officially reported the matter at the Olubasanjo Police division, lamented that immediately after the robbery, he made a phone call to glace headquarters over the identity of the robbers but was told by a police officer who spoke to him, to formally put up a written petition over the incident to the Commissioner of Police.
