Ikpeazu Tells Christian Leaders To Be Practical

Christians have been told to embrace practical Christian values that  demonstrate humility and service to the body of Christ.

Speaking at the award of Crusader of Social Gospel on Apostle (Dr) Chibuzor Gift Chinyere General Overseer of Omega Power Ministry, Gov Ikpeazu said Apostle Chinyere has distinguished himself by championing humanitarian and people oriented service and building on the foundation of Jesus social ministry.

Drawing Chinyere at the conference organized by the Department of Religions and Cultural studies, University of Port Harcourt in honour of Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere Port Harcourt, recently, Governor Ikpeazu who was represented by his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Udo Oko Chukwu congratulated Apostle Chibuzor for his achievements, adding that only a man of God with a compassionate heart can reach the poor and destitute with gospel and basic needs of life.

Governor Ikpeazu noted that Apostle Chibuzor has championed a cause that will outlive him, adding that with more persons of his type in various spheres of the society, Nigeria and the rest of world will be a better place.

He said, “I congratulate the G.O for his award. He has displayed practiced Christianity by touching the lives of the poor in the society and I know not all pastors will do so. I believe if religious leaders and every individual can emulate his examples, our nation and the world will be a better place to live”.

Chairman of the occasion and former Nigeria ambassador to the USA, Israel and Cyprus, professor (Amb) George Obiozor appreciated the University of Port Harcourt for recognizing the efforts of Apostle Chibuzor and deeming him fit as a recipient of the prestigious award adding that it is a move in the right direction.

Amb. Obiozor in what he described as a move from darkness to light, explained that Apostle Chibuzor have faced the rough tide of life and overcame, adding that, his experiences though life inspired his drive to invest in humanitarian and people oriented services.

He said, “The G.O has moved from darkness to light and has today started of a missionary movement around the world to reach out to the down trodden, poor and less privileged. He has used his blessings for the benefit of mankind and of the Glory of God”.

In his remark, acting Head of Department of Religious and Cultural Studies, University of Port Harcourt, Dr. Ngozi N. Iheanacho noted that the conference is in line with the department’s quest to explore contemporary African Christianity, Pastorate and renascent Pentecostalism, adding that the drive of the conference is to make Uniport, the Department of Religious and Cultural Studies a major stop point for data on African Apostolate.

Recounting the tremendous contributions of Apostle Chibuzor to modern Pentecostalism, Dr. Iheanacho described him as a crusade of social gospel who has invested immensely in the rehabilitation of people who have gone through terrible situations.

In his remark, Apostle Chibuzor appreciated the school authority for the prestigious award, stating that he was overwhelmed by the love and reception shown to him.

He charged Christian faithful to be rest assured in god’s purpose for their lives, adding that nothing worthwhile can be achieved without God.
