Rumuodara Youths Elect New Leaders

Frank Nzube Weli has been elected president, Rumuodara Youth Progressive Forum. In a keenly contested election, Weli polled 104 votes, defeating three other contestants, Nlemonu Obialor Weli, Ifeanyi Weli and Collins Chile Weli.

Candidates for other positions were elected unopposed.

They are: Eric Onukem-Vice President, Chika Amadi –Secretary, Manuchim Chuku-Financial Secretary, Lawrence Chinwo-Assistant Secretary, Ogonda Justice Onukem – Treasurer, Kenneth Amadi-PRO, Felix Onukem – Provost I and Riches Amadi – Provost II.

Speaking at the election venue, Chairman of Obio/Akpor Council, Hon. Solomon Eke, advised the elected officers to conduct themselves peacefully and carry everybody along in their administration.

He also urged them to work in synergy with the traditional rulers, chiefs and elders to maintain peace in Rumuodara community while assuring them of the support of Obio/Akpor Council.

Addressing the elected officers in his palace, the Paramount Ruler of Rumuodara Community, HRH, Eze John Enyindah Amadi urged them to work for the development of Rumuodara, carry everybody along and pursue peace.

Eze Amadi said he gave the youth body free hand to choose their leaders and urged them to join hands with him to maintain peace in the community.

He said he was impressed by the peaceful nature of the election, adding that he would organize a thanksgiving church service to show appreciation to God for its success.

The Chairman of the election committee, Barr. Echendu Onukem, who was commended for a good job, showered appreciations on the Obio/Akpor Council boss, Hon. Solomon Eke for physical by witnessing the election.

He said the chairman’s presence contributed greatly to the success of the youth election.

Speaking to newsmen, the new president, Frank Nzube Weli said he would work for peace and unity of Rumuodara, empower the youths, pursue development and be transparent in his administration.

He also promised to be loyal to constituted authorities like the paramount ruler, chiefs and elders and represent the youths effectively.

While assuring that his administration will carry everybody along, Frank said he would liase with companies to provide jobs and organize skills acquisition for youths of Rumuodara.
