Nigerian Club sides Fail To Make CAF Top Ten List
Despite the performance of the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the recent concluded African Cup of Nation’s Competitions in Egypt, no Nigerian clubside was rated in the top 10 of the 70 clubs released by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in its recent rankings of club sides in African.
Former African Champion, Enyimba of Aba was ranked 18th in Africa, Lobi Stars of Makurdi is 29th, while Port Harcourt based Rivers United is ranked 67th in the latest ratings of club sides in the African continent.
TP Mazemba of Congo tops other club sides in the ranking followed by Whydah Casablanca of Morocco in the 2nd position and AL-Ahly of Egypt on the 3rd position. Other in the top 10 included;
Esperance of Tunisia, Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa, Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia, Zamelek of Egypt, Horoya of Guinea, USM Algiers while Raja Casablanca of Morocco completes the top 10 ranking.
The last ranked club sides in Africa alongside Rivers United are MC El-Eulma, of Algiers, AC Leopards of Kenya and Stade Malien of Abidjan, Mali.
