CLO Proffers Solution To Nkpolu Flood
As the deplorable condition of Nkpolu axis of the East-West Road continues to elicit condemnations, a Community Liaison Officer has offered suggestions on how to stop the perennial flood causing havoc in the area.
Speaking to our correspondent in Port Harcourt, Adams Clinton, Community Liaison Officer (CLO) representing Obio/Akpor in the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs on East West Road Project said all the blocked drains within and outside Nkpolu should be evacuated into canals.
The evacuation of the drains, according to him, should start from Rumuaghorlu to SARS Road to Rumuodomaya extending to Omega Power Ministry (OPM).
The next step, he said, is to bring the evacuation process back to Eligbolo to Eliozu Farm Road II through Elimaya Ozu Estate to Mini Ogbolorlu by Eliozu to Rumuodara, via Mini Ewa to Trans Amadi.
After these processes had been completed, Clinton who is the Secretary, Eliozu Council of Chiefs and Traditional Rulers said a committee should be set up in various impacted communities and monthly allowance given to them to be used for monitoring and clearing of drainages and canals periodically.
The CLO assured that when these were done, flood would vanish at Nkpolu axis of East-West Road and some other adjoining communities.
