Banigo Assures ASALGA Women On Skills Centre
Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Dr. Ipalibo Harry-Banigo has assured the women of Asari Toru local government area that they would soon enjoy the benefit of a Skill Development Centre in the area.
Banigo who disclosed this at a pre-project execution and introductory meeting with Total E and P Nigeria Limited at the Government House, Port Harcourt, said the project would add value as it would give them the opportunity to acquire skills and self-employed or employers of labour.
The deputy Governor said women were very willing to develop themselves and ready to participate economically within the society, stressing that they have so much to give if they are properly directed and put in the right environment.
She assured Total E and P that government would create an enabling environment that would ensure speedy actualization of the project and thanked the company for undertaking such project that would give the people of the area a sense of belonging.
In his speech, the chairman of Asari Toru Local Government Area, Hon. Odeari Princewill expressed lauded the Deputy Governor and Total E and P for the project. He disclosed that the traditional rulers and the entire people of the area were pleased, adding that the council was willing to provide more land for the expansion of the project.
Princewill also assured that the local government council will take full responsibility for the security of the facilities and thanked all for their efforts in ensuring that the project comes to fruition.
Also speaking, Public Relations Manager, Total E and P Nigeria Ltd, Roland Georgewill opined that the meeting was at the instance of the Deputy Governor, disclosing that she facilitate the location of the Women Skills Development Centre in Buguma and thanked all for their co-operation and support.
