Rumuodara Youth Election: Candidates Unveil Agenda
Contestants to the office of the president of Rumuodara Youth Progressive Forum (RYPF) have unveiled their manifestoes at a meeting held last Sunday July 7th at Ruomuodara Town hall and attended by youths of Rumuodara.
Obilor Nlemonu Weli, one of the presidential aspirants said his administration would galvanize companies in the community to empower the youths through skills acquisition and employment.
He also said he would reform education and offer scholarships to indigent students, adding that reorientation and better welfare for the youths would be pursued.
The top presidential contender also promised to tackle insecurity, stressing that through his programme of empowerment he would dissuade youths of Rumuodara from indulging in crime.
Frank Weli, another presidential contestant said his administration would institute a credible and transparent youth body and work towards achieving peace and unity in the community.
He also promised effective representation, youth empowerment and development, adding that he would be loyal to constituted authorities.
Ifeanyi Weli, the third presidential contestant said he would work with the constitution of Rumuodara youths, create employment, organize skills acquisition, offer scholarships and buy JAMB forms for youths interested in furthering their education.
He said his administration will set up a committee that will liase with companies to create and offer employment for Rumuodara youths.
Stantos Weli, one of the presidential contestants stepped down without giving any reasons.
At the end of presentations, the chairman of the Election Committee, Barr. Echendu Onukem congratulated the aspirants for a job well done and promised that his committee would be fair to all.
