Engineer Proffers Strategies For Sustainable Business. Collins Barasimeye
A fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Engr. Celestine Cliffe said to build a sustainable business in a fast changing world; considerations should be given to visioning and business planning, work processes, sound accounting principles and strategic collaboration.
Engr. Cliffe, who is the Managing Director of Kailex Oil and Gas Ltd made the assertion at a monthly technical session of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Port Harcourt branch.
According to him, with a clear picture on preferred business perception help people to recognize barriers to realizing their vision and reduce organizational conflicts, adding that it also encouraged synergy and unity of purpose.
He stated that work processes and procedures promotes excellence in business execution, consistency in service delivery, enhanced internal control, greater value to stakeholders as well as encouraged collaboration and team spirit.
The fellow noted that sound accountability principles also help in building a sustainable business in a fast changing world as it maintains safe and sound financial systems, stressing that it established clear accountability for development, implementation and reviews as well as facilitate timely reporting and periodic auditing.
Cliffe opined that staff retention, encouraged skilled and competent workforce and better business result, stressing that with regular training programmes, employees share knowledge and experience.
He stated that strategic collaborations was one of the measures to build a sustainable business in a fast changing world in a situation where there is explicit agreement between two parties to leverage combined resources for the purpose of delivering sustainable benefit, pointing out that with emphasis on efficient movement of products across the supply chain, profitable and enhancement of customers experience.
