The 69th FIFA Congress held in Paris yesterday endorsed the incumbent President Ganni Infantino as the president of FIFA Until 2023.

Infantino was first elected as the 9th President of the footballing body at an extraordinary congress in February 2016 and has now been given another four years, in an acclamation vote by the FIFA 211 member association.

Infantino said after the votes that FIFA has moved forward from being a toxic, almost criminal body to being a formidable institution in football development.

“The new FIFA has a mission and plan for which is why the next four years have in fact already started, we have solid building blocks for the future,” the President declared.

FIFA Supreme legislative body is said to have also approved the activity report and financial statement for 2018 and the detail budget of 2020 with USD810m allocated to investment in football. The 70th FIFA congress is scheduled for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in May 2020.
