Perm Sec Wants Engagement Of Retired Professionals
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Urban Development and Physical Planning, Sir Chidi Adiele has called for optimal utilization of the services of experienced retired professionals to add value to the workforce.
The Permanent Secretary made the call during his familiarization tour to the Ministry’s annex at Moscow Road, Port Harcourt.
Sir Adiele said that engaging the services of the veteran professionals who are still competent and active in the job may help to bring about proficiency in the system, noting that “bringing in these agencies may fast-track job proficiency in the workforce as they will use their wealth of experience for manpower development.”
He instructed Heads of Departments in the Ministry to jointly draw up a workable document to that effect for consideration and also enjoined the staff to make best use of every working situation they find themselves for maximum productivity.
In his remarks, the Director, Physical Planning and Transport, Davies Tonte, on behalf of the head of department, thanked the Permanent Secretary for finding time to reach the Ministry’s annex and promised to adhere to the directives.
