Barely four days to the flick-off of the All Africa Senior Badminton Championship in Port Harcourt. The committee is putting in finishing touches to the Alfred Diete-Spiff Sports Complex main Hall venue for the tournament.

The Vortex sports correspondent gathered that preparations are in top gear for a hitch-free tournament scheduled to begin from April 22 – 28, 2019.

Our correspondent further learnt that the main hall of the complex will feature six courts as cleaning of the area was also in progress while arrangements for transportation, security and accommodation were being intensified.

It was gathered that players from the 18 African countries are expected to arrive the state from April 20, 2019.

It would be recalled that the Commissioner for Sports in Rivers State, Hon. Boma Iyaye had promised that the state government is fully prepared to host a hitch-free and memorable event and enjoined the Nigerian players to display their best and win the tournament to make the country proud.

Some of the countries expected at the tournament include Algeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Kenya, South Africa, Botswana, DR. Congo, Eritrea, Congo DC among others.
