‘Amaechi Forced Me To Sign Undated Resignation Letter’
The former Deputy Governorship candidate of the AAC, Chief Akpo Bomba Yeeh has alleged that the Transportation Minister, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi forced him to sign an undated resignation letter as Deputy Governor of Rivers State in order to pave way for his own nominee eventually.
Bomba Yeeh who disclosed this at a press briefing in Port Harcourt while tendering his resignation from AAC also alleged that Amaechi impressed it upon them that as leader he would appoint 90% of political office holders, including commissioners, special advisers and members of Boards of parastatals.
The former AAC Deputy Governorship candidate said these conditions were not what any rational politician should accept, hence his decision to resign and joined the PDP.
Governor Wike has commended Bomba Yeeh for having the courage to resign his position, stressing that history will be kind to him for putting Rivers interest above his personal gain.
Emma Okah, Rivers State Information/Communication Commissioner described the AAC former Deputy Governorship candidate as a man of integrity who cares for the wellbeing of the state.
But the All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken a swipe at Bomba Yeeh, saying what motivated him to join the PDP was the alleged N200million he was offered.
The party in a statement by its spokesman in the state, Chris Finebone, condemned what it called; Bomba Yeeh’s fabricated lies against their leader Amaechi.
APC said the former AAC Deputy Governorship candidate’s allegations against the Transportation Minister were made to justify his despicable act.
Meanwhile, the AAC governorship candidate, Engr. Biokpomabo Awara has claimed that the allegations made by Yeeh against Amaechi was a script written by the PDP to tarnish the imagine of the Transportation Ministers.
