PDP Challenges Okorocha To Publish Imo Financial Statement
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has challenged the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha to publish the state’s financial statement to prove that he had not engaged in “last minute looting.”
The challenge came on the heels of allegations that Okorocha withdrew a whopping N17b from banks and carted away government property amounting to millions of Naira.
A statement by spokesman of the PDP in the state, Damian Opara said the only way Okorocha could prove that he had not engaged in last minute looting is to publish the state’s account statement for public perusal.
Meanwhile, the Imo State governor-elect, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha has warned financial institutions against further dealings with the Governor.
But Okorocha has denied the allegation that he withdrew N17b from the state treasury.
His press secretary, Sam Onwuemedo said Imo State does not have N17b as it has meager Federal allocation and Internally Generated Revenue.
He urged the public to ignore the allegation, saying the governor was ready for probe.
