Bipi Dedicates Re-Election Victory To Ogu/Bolo Women
The member representing Ogu/Bolo constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Evans Bapakaye Bipi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was re-elected at the just concluded Governorship and House of Assembly elections in the area.
Declaring the results after the polls, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer of the local government, Walter Cornelius said Rt. Hon Bipi polled a total of 16,850 votes.
According to the Returning Officers, Rt. Hon Bipi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) having scored the highest number of votes and satisfied all requirements was declared winner to return to the House of Assembly to represent the people of Ogu/Bolo constituency in Rivers Sate.
Reacting to the declaration, Rt. Hon Evans Bapakaye Bipi said he dedicated his victory to the women of the local government area for their doggedness in defending their votes after an attempt by some military men to hijack the results and other electoral materials in the area.
He assured the people of better representation in the Rivers State House of Assembly and be more proactive with a wider open door policy.
Rt. Hon Bipi further thanked the people of the local government area for the confidence reposed in him by re-electing him as the law maker in the State Assembly to represent them, assuring that he would not disappoint them.
