ADP Candidate To Prioritize Waste Disposal
The gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Party (ADP) in Rivers State, Mr. Victor Fingesi has pledged to pay priority attention on prompt disposal of wastes in the State.
Fingesi who spoke to newsmen while carrying out a sanitation exercise at Creek Road and other areas of Port Harcourt, described the state capital and the entire state as extremely dirty.
He promised to return Port Harcourt to the Garden City status and said he initiated the cleaning of wastes and drains to demonstrate his priority interests if elected as governor on March 9.
According to him, waste collection in the state should be handled by professionals, adding that he will design an efficient sanitation system that will provide designated areas for waste collection while incinerators will be used to dispose the wastes.
Fingesi expressed his desire to build more markets in the state, which according to him, will help to decongest traders off the streets, adding that he will bring down the present insecurity challenges in the state to the barest minimum, in order to encourage investors in the state and generate employment for the youths.
“We will invest Rivers money to bring honour to Rivers people. The wealth of Rivers people will go into benefitting the Rivers people,” the ADP candidate stated.
