‘Why Okrika, Ahoada West Had No Results’
Electoral officers in two Okrika and Ahoada West local governments in Rivers State on Monday told the presidential result collation centre at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) head office in Port Harcourt that a group of soldiers invaded their local government result collation centres and made away with the result sheets.
Electoral officer for Okrika LAD, Mr Leo Okon said that some military personnel stormed the collation centre in the area and demanded for the result sheets for the election.
According the EO, the soldiers stormed the collation point shooting sporadically and demanded for the results. We all ran into the INEC office. The armed soldiers led by one Capt. Noah then ordered that all materials in the centre be taken away.
He also alleged that some of the election personnel who worked with him at the centre were still missing.
In her submission ,Mrs Emotimi Nikky Cleapas, the Electoral Office for Ahoada West reported that she could not declare any result from the area, alleging that some thugs sponsored by one of the political parties attacked the collation centre and scattered the materials.
