Ikwerre Elders Charge New NDDC Director On Performance
Ikwerre Chiefs and Elders Forum on Monday, February 4, charged the newly appointed Executive Director of Finance and Administration at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr. Chris Amadi to remain focused and justify the appointment of an Ikwerre son into the position.
The chiefs and elders gave the charge on the occasion of a reception organized in honour of Mr. Amadi in Port Harcourt.
They expressed their appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari for the appointment, stating that it was the first time an Ikwerre son was occupying the position at the NDDC. The chiefs described the appointment as well deserved as it also signifies the recognition of the contributions of Ikwerre ethnic nationality to the development of the region and Nigeria in general.
In his response, the new NDDC Director, Mr. Chris Amadi expressed his deep gratitude to the chiefs and elders for their gesture. Mr. Amadi assured of his commitment to discharge the responsibilities of his office, adding that he will justify the confidence reposed in him by the President.
